Even though the elimination from Europe came as a blow for the Santiago Bernabeu faithful, Casillas has emphasized that the outcome will prove to be advantageous for the Spanish capital-based outfit.
The shot stopper then went on to declare his joy as Los Vikingos secured their 32nd La Liga title.
The footballing juggernauts emerged 4-1 victorious over Mallorca in the last fixture of the league, taking their points tally to 100 in a single season; a feat never been achieved by a Spanish team.
While talking to reporters, the veteran goalkeeper was quoted as saying:
"What happened in the Champions League against Bayern was a real shame, but it will only make us stronger. Let's see if luck is on our side next year and we can go all the way. Generally speaking, we outdid ourselves this term and we want to take another
step forward next season.”
"Things won't be easy, but we have a young and ambitious squad that wants more. We've earned numbers worthy of a truly big side and we haven't lost a single game in the second half of the Liga season."
