Question:

Loss of hearing and weak after blood test

Hello all, I just had a blood test done and during the 5th test tube being drawn, I started to feel weak and my hearing felt as if someone was talking into a tin can and I started to feel weak. I had tunnel vision as I got up to walk out right after the tests. My loss of hearing now almost gone or the tin can effect was really worse than ever. I felt really faint at this point but kept walking on my own anyway to my car in which I felt a little better. I felt great about a hour later. Is this something to expect after giving 7 test tubes of blood?

Thank you all in advance for your answers.

  1. You should have told the person who was taking the blood. You'll probably be okay now, but what if you had passed out?

  2. You may have an allergy to the "iodine" they spread on your arm before injecting the needle. I know I do and felt like a train ran over me afterwards. I took a nap and felt much better once I woke up.
