Question:

Lost Drivers License?

I lost my drivers license and I have to drive to work tomorrow. If I were to be pulled over by a cop or get in an accident, what would happen? I live in New York by the way. Someone once told me I have 24 hours to present my drivers license.

  1. lost as in cant find you can order a replacement online  lost like the state took it your screwed if caught driving

  2. That is what I have heard also. However, I have also heard that they can sometimes look you up in a computer database they have in their car. Make sure you have another I.D. though. I am not sure if those are true but thats what I have heard.

I would try to get a new license as soon as you can, just to prevent this situation. You should try to replace it tonight online because there might be something you can print off or say you replaced it online.

    NYS DMV:

  3. i'd get yourself to the registry and get a new one.  In Mass you don't have 24 hours to present it.  If you loose it you have to get off your butt and replace it.

  4. Just don't get pulled over.

  5. go to www.dmv.com

  6. Contact NYS DMV asap!

  7. You can typically order a new license online and print that out.  If something were to happen you will have that paper. If this is not an option, it's not that serious.
