Lost Hamster?

Question

Mk, i lost my hamster and i know shes in the house and i cant find her. So i bought these live mouse traps to catch her (shes a dwarf hamster so she will fit). And i want to know what kind of bait to use? whats will make her want to ger into the trap?

Any of her favorite treats. Like Sunflowers. And she will run right into it.

I can reccomend something easier, a home made trap. All you need is her favourite treats, two semi-thick books and an large glass jar. Make the books into a little set of stairs and position the jar at an angle at the top. Place her favourite treats in the bottom of the jar and wait. Your hamster should smell the treats, walk up the "steps" and climb into the jar to get the treats. However, once she's in the bottom, her claws will make her slip on the glass so that she can't climb out again. Hey presto, a caught hamster! Hope this helps.

crisps they have a strong smell so the hamster can definately detect them and thye love crisps! (no flavour in particular)

Well, if you put in a little selection of food it may entice her, like put in normal hamster food, then maybe some of her favourite treats and nuts and anything she likes. Maybe you could try using something smelly like cheese? Good luck with getting her back, you'll have to tell me when you do lol hope I helped 8D

Do you have parents/roommates/siblings that can help you out?  You can cover much more ground by having many people look with you.  

Hamsters will go for nuts (old hamster of mine loved pistachios, use that if you have them right now), but try fresh carrots and celery which have strong scents.  Your hamster might pick up the smells easily.  Set them in places that a dwarf hamster would be able to fit in (under the bed, door cracks, etc.  Good luck.

if you have tile or hardwood floors you could try spreading baby powder or flour around. if the hamster walks through it you will have somewhat of an odea of where it is. once you get your hamster you can always just vaccum up the flour/ baby powder.

my hamster went into a hole in the wall and fell like two feet so i just hoped that when i put hamster mix on his wheel he would come back and he climed 2 feet to get to the wheel with food.
