  1. i dont think you can replace one that old padi didnt very good records then but try the padi web site.  Alot has changed with diving u just may want to take another class and look into the dive computers.they are well worth it.

  2. Susan, I was in the same situation about 10 years ago.  I had gotten my C-card in 1975 and dived a tiny bit.  And lost it.  You could contact PADI (Pay All Dollars Immediately)but realistically, you should take the Open Water class again.  I did and I was amazed how much I had forgotten and how much the equipment had changed.

So I suggest recertifying.  Without your old card, you may not be able to just take a refresher course - they probably want the whole ball of wax.    And there is the safety issue...

  3. Take it or a NAUI class(, better I think....).

but, like the rrst say, getting a new C card won't be enough. Recertify,; I did a few years ago and it was great practice.

Happy Diving and remember; It always fun to go down....

  4. I seriously would say redo the course again.  Diving hasn't changed, but equipment and divetables are more modern and up to date and we know far more about the physiology of diving now.  You need to go through it all again from the start - 28 years is just to long out of the water!  Why do PADI though?  There is SSSI, NAUI and BSAC, all are good and offer a real alternative to PADI!
