Question:

Lost Thoroughbred Records?

I recently had to put my thoroughbred mare down. I rescued her when she was about 27, and I was wondering if I could find any old race/breeding records about her. I know her registered name, but I don't know where to look. Granted, this was about 25 years ago, is it possible to find old information like this?

I'd like to know her parent's names. Her breeder. Any races she might have entered, or any children she might have. Any ideas?

  1. If you know her registered name you can search on http://www.pedigreequery.com .  It will give you a free 5 generation pedigree and you can do a progeny search to see if she had any foals.

If you don't mind paying for records you can go to http://www.brisnet.net .  They offer several different reports ranging in price from about $1-20 depending on the info you are looking for.

  2. go onto the site www.racingpost.co.uk and when your on the homepage, at the top right corner there should be two boxes. put the horses proper name in the one (not its pet name) and horse in the other. then search , that way you should find it. If you can't find it, give me the horses proper name and i will find it for you. please get back to me
