Do you need a parent with you to cancel your current card and get a new one with a different PIN if I am under the age of 16?

  1. Not to cancel. If it's lost, cancel IMMEDIATELY. Then ask them tomorrow about reactivating a new card and pin. CANCEL though (especially if it is a debit card!)

  2. just follow your heart okay lovvie

  3. While they may have to go in with you since you are not yet considered an adult, they do not have to know what the pin is that you change to. They may want to - and that is the rub - but if it is just for your personal use, then you have an excuse to be the only one who knows the PIN. Your argument is that you want it separate since they may be be using the same PIN on other cards. If you have this discussion in front of the person waiting on you, it may be an embarrassment to your parents to argue. If they are against it none-the-less, you may find things are a little "chilly" at home for a while. Good luck.

  4. i would say a big, resounding YES, being that you are a minor.

  5. Yes. If the bankcard primary holder was not you, the bank will have to speak to the primary card-holder to make any changes. But since you lost your card, the primary card-holder will be at high risk for identity theft. So please ask your parents to inform the bank, cancel the previous card, check if there are any fraudulent charges or with-drawls, and then reissue another new one.  Have your parents check their credit scores periodically as well.

  6. if they are the primary holders of the account: yes

  7. I would say yes if your parebts are on the account with you which I would assume they are if you're under 18.
