Lost credit card- charges?

if a person were to lose their card, and call the company to have it cancelled, if they had monthly charges that came from some online service to that card, what would then happen? would the service just be cancelled, or would my replacement card be charged?

  1. If you call and report the card stolen, most company would not hold you responsible for those charges.  If they do,  then use need to dispute the charges with the company...

    You have to report the card stolen first...........


  2. You would have to dispute the unauthorized charges and then the company would issue you a new card.


  3. Assuming you called immediately after you lost your card and no one made any charges to your card, you will receive a new card and card number with the same balance before the card was lost. Sometimes merchants will request you to email your card number. If they do only give them the last 4 digits of your card. Don't ever email your card number  other than the site of purchase  because another person might intercept or forward your email with your .card number on it.

  4. You would have to contact the online service and give them the new card info.  They would not be able to automatically charge on the replacement card.
