One day couldn't access hard drive it said ''your disk is not formatted do you want to format now'' I obviously clicked no, I've now removed the hard drive from my pc and am trying to access the hard drive on my vista laptop via a IDE to USB converter connection. it kinda recognises it and shows as a usb device, but you can't find the driver letter on my computer, and it constantly freezes. its set as a slave etc on hard drive but it's totally corrupt and not accessible. I've downloaded ontrack data recovery software, but what can i do if it won't recognise it as a drive?

any guidance would be much appreciated as i've got years of pictures and vids that im afraid i've lost....

i used the hard drive for just dragging and dropping files and im not sure if there was any operating system on there, if there was it would be windows xp....
