Lost guinea pig?

I lost my guinea pig yesterday (7/18/08) around 5pm (therefore, she has been missing for 19 hours) I have checked my room, that is the last place I had her, she usually goes under my bed if she falls off.. she wasnt there, I checked all the areas I usually have her, nothing. She was acting a bit funny though, like if she has food and water, she would squeal, until I picked her up and held her, she wouldnt stop squealing. she is only a year old. I cannot find her. I have lost all hope for her. My heart tells me, that she isn't dead, but for her being missing for 19 hours, my mind tells me she is. Usually after about 10 hours of no food, she squeals, I have heard nothing. My parents heard one squeal in the backyard, but I highly doubt she would be outside, I only take her out every now and then, and I didnt take her outside yesterday..

  1. well, i lost one of my piggies overnight once, and i was scared as h**l! i knew she was in the garage, but the garage door had been open when we lost her (shes a mad thing, jumps everywhere!)

what i did was leave a spare hutch open, full of bedding, food water, and veges and stuff. in the morning the carrots were gone so i knew shes been there. i managed to catch her later tht day. (you have no idea how hard tht was, you should see my garage! theres everything, old computers, tables, chairs, laptops, dolls houses, old fridges... the list is endless!)

as someone else said, she will have no trouble with stairs... sorry...

what i recomend is putting fresh veges down all over the house in little heaps (all her favourites) and treats and stuff. if that is gone by the next day, shes still around your house. make a trail to where her hutch is. build a little wall of something around her cage, and a ramp going up one side (not the side facing the cage) and cover the ramp in veges, joining on from the trail of veges coming all over the house. basicaly, she'll follow the trail, climb up the ramp, and once shes over the wall, she wont be able to get back over because theres no ramp on the side she's fallen in.

Gd luck! I feel so sorry for you! If the worst comes to the worst, dont worry, shes gone to the great big carrot in the sky, like 2 of mine =[

    Again, gd luck =]

  2. i feel so sorry for u

  3. Try rustling a Polythene bag around all areas of your house when i do that my guinea pigs start to squeal like nothing on this earth.  This might help locate her.

(Your guinea will make it down the stairs no problem but not up them.  Did you have any doors open at the time you lost her?)

Stop saying the same thing over and over It's NOT helping!!!!!)

  4. check your closet.

or, tell everyone to shut up and listen for scratching noises.

  5. well its an animals instinct that  when a lot of animals know they are going they will run off, dogs do it cats will try to, heck elephants will jump off a cliff when they know they are going   its sad but the way of life...

  6. Your parents took your little friend to a great big farm, where he will spent the rest of his life frolicking and playing with other little guinneas. Oh by the way.........that smell in your room is probably a dirty sock or something dont' worry about it. It goes away after a few days..........

Get another guinnea and keep it in a cage, sweety

  7. It's okay, you'll find her . Kepp having faith . =D

  8. Aww! Poor baby!

She might have escaped into the garden... My guinea-pig was an escape artist - not as much as my rabbit though, lol!
