Lost jewelry, do insurance companies usually replace? or...?

do they replace it by giving the exact same one by giving you money or do they give you vouchers to the worth, that you can spend in a jewelry store they always use and r affiliated with? and therefore not the same one?

  1. If you list it on your policy for additional premium then you should get full replacement value, possibly payout or vouchers depending on which company you have.  Be careful claiming it if you dont have it listed, because most policies have a limit of like 2500 per piece on special homeowners forms...broad forms will not cover losing it normally


  2. This answer, assumes you have "oops I lost it" insurance on the jewelry, because normally that's not covered.  

    They usually have a wholesale provider, and will either cut you a check for the wholesale value, or have the wholesaler send the item to you.

  3. What kind of insurance?  Did you have it separately listed on your policy?
