I'm 18 years old and I live in NC. I just lost my license for a year from a dui! I just started college & i was thinking that maybe if I got all A's & didn't get in any more trouble maybe I could get it reduced, but I wasn't sure if it was even possible?

  1.             No your stuck should  have thought about that when you got drunk.

  2. Uh, just be glad you didn't kill anyone. That would have been forever.  Suck it up and pay your penalty.

  3. If you've already been convicted and sentenced, you're out of luck.  You were suspended for being a minor in possession, and that means an automatic DUI under federal mandates.  These mandates are very specific in their terms, and you have already proven to the courts that you aren't mature enough to operate a motor vehicle.  By the time you get the reduction in penalty hearing onto a docket, and then actually scheduled, the State of North Carolina will delay the process until after your suspension would ordinarily end.  That's the way courts work.  Either way, you're out of the driving privilege until after the courts say you may drive again.  What you should do is to ask the courts to give you a "deferred adjudication" after you complete your terms of punishment.  That means a dismissal on your record instead of a conviction.  At your age you will need that to get ahead after you get out of college.  Believe me when I say you will not be able to hold certain jobs for 10 years after you finish your punishment.  That's what you decided to throw away when you drove under the influence.

You should be thankful that you were stopped, rather than cleaned off the pavement after an accident, or worse yet, arrested for causing someone else to be injured or killed.

  4. In NC  just like in all states they will not bend the rules for DUI"s at all.....
