Question:

Lost message while typing, please help?

I was typing a message to one of my friends at this forum I go to, and let me tell you, it was an EXTREMELY long message with a LOT of thought put into it. And error popped up (I don't know what it said) and everything on my computer BUT the window I was typing the message in, froze. I was afraid that I would lose the message so I kept right clicking and "copying" it. I couldn't open Microsoft Word because everything else was frozen. Just as I clicked on the send button, the window closed and my computer unfroze. But when I got back on and right clicked to "paste" it, the paste option was faded. Is there ANY chance I can get it back? ANY? I mean, it took me exactly 3 hours to type it. I'm SO mad.

  1. Life often isn't a bed of roses :-)

For a 3 hour long message, I would first write out the message in Wordpad or notepad and then paste it.

I once lost a 3 page article I wrote the same way, so you are not alone (happens with many of us).

Next time you know what is to be done - use a text editor and keep saving your work.

  2. Unfortunately, it looks like what you typed is lost. Browsers and message boards don't autosave text typed into them. Next time, use Word and save often for long messages.
