Lost motorcycle title?

i live in illinois. i bought a motorcycle last year got it running and went to transfer title but now i cant find the title. i dont have a way of finding the person i bought the bike from. is there any way of getting a new title? thanks

  1. Call the state Motor Vehicle Department from where the plate was issued. No plate, no title, then try registration. None of the above ? Well you will have a great story for the grand kids some day.


  2. Bring the VIN # of your bike to the DMV and apply for a duplicate title.
