Question:

Lost network connection after AVG scan...can you provide insight?

Ran a full scan with AVG. It reported a trojan. Clicked "heal" and AVG closed. Tried to go online and can't. The network connection worked prior to the scan as I successfully ran the update. Now, all the settings appear correct, no connection. The cable is fine as I tested it with a laptop. But the PC simply won't recognize the connection. Any thoughts?

  1. the new avg update has a network managing tool just delete all the networks and it should go back to normal

  2. AVG's malware "healing" may have damaged your Winsock chain and that is preventing you from connecting to the internet.

If you run Windows XP>>> WinSock XP Fix:

"WinSock XP Fix offers a last resort if your Internet connectivity has been corrupted due to invalid or removed registry entries. It can often cure the problem of lost connections after the removal of Adware components or improper uninstall of firewall applications or other tools that modify the XP network and Winsock settings. If you encounter connection problems after removing network related software, Adware or after registry clean-up; and all other ways fail, then give WinSock XP Fix a try. It can create a registry backup of your current settings, so it is fairly safe to use..."
