  1. Ask Inland Revenue

  2. Employers are not allowed to issue duplicate P45s. Best thing to go is ask HMRC if details are held on their records. then if you get a new job, a correct code number can be issued new employer, showing previous pay and tax details.

  3. Ask your previous employer, that's what I did when I lost mine.  If they can't then contact the tax office for advice.

  4. If you have lost your P45 you cannot get another one.

However, if you need it to pass on to a new employer within the same tax year, you can complete a P46 instead. This may mean you are on an emergency code for awhile but it will get sorted out.

If you need it to know your pay and tax details for a Tax Return form or to make a repayment claim, you will need to ask your employer for a Statement of Earnings it it's place. :o)

  5. You can't replace your P45 not that I know of anyway, but you can use a P46 instead, if you're starting a new job your new employer should provide it, you need to sort it out asap though otherwise you might get emergency taxed!
