Lost parcel? Help!?

i paid for an ebay item and shipping, it's been three weeks and i still haven't received the item. the seller sent the item via regular mail, claims the package doesn't have the receipt for it and no tracking number, just the stamps. What should i do?

okay. i've worked alot of customer service for the post service and can tell you its basically a waste of time if theres no tracking available. also, its just as likely that the seller is lying as it is that the post office lost it. don't know what ebay policy is but no leg to stand on with p.o.if you go to the p.o. they will take information and as far as it will go is they ask the carrier if they remember a package for you.sorry ...hope you didn't spend too much.
