I drove cross country recently. A month or so after the trip, Im slow up hills with what sounds like the engine working very hard. Regardless Im going to change the plugs. Think this will renew its performance. Or is it the beginning of the end?

  1. your car also might e spark knocking and also you need to replace the spark wires that go to your engine to your spark plugs that would be the best thing to do also change your fluids and if you continue to have difficulties and your engine is still loosing power it might be conpression problems good luck

  2. Take your truck to a mechanic and have him check the compression. You didn't mention if you are having any knocking or pinging noises. I would also pickup a bottle of Chevron Techron and run it through your fuel system and buy some quality gasoline (Top Tier like Chevron, Texaco, Shell, etc). Its a little difficult to isolate the problem without knowing how well the truck has been maintained. I would go see your mechanic as it could be something simple so don't let it turn into something serious. Check you pcv valve and your fuel filter also if those haven't been changed out in the last 30k miles.
