Lost property in Rome?

I lost my camera when I was in Rome on the weekend. I'm convinced I left it in a taxi which I hailed in the street.

Is there any way I can find it? A central lost property office or something?

Its not the camera I want but the pictures.

If that doesn't provide results, you can also try these sites: www.ifoundyourcamera.net (http://www.ifoundyourcamera.blogspot.com... http://www.camerafound.com/?gclid=CKfVxt... They have managed to get some found cameras/pictures returned to the owners - a longshot, but worth at least looking.

There are photos from Rome currently on the site, but I think they're from earlier in the month.
