Lost retainer. excuses?

ive lost my retianer many times before. and i recently got a new one. they day i got it, i left it at my friends party! ik i suck. i hid the fact that i lost it and whenever my mom asked about it i pretended my white tray was my retianer. i went to the orthodontist, she said everything was fine and i told her i jsut left the retainer at home. now i have to go back next week and she told me to bring it. EXCUSES?! please. ive thought of a few..but i need help!

Ahhh shooot (hold your head). I think I'll need to go back, because I forgot my retainer. I took it off because I had a Basketball game yesterday and it wasn't safe to keep the retainer on. Should I go back or is it alright if I don't have it?

If you have a sibling, tell the ortho that ur sibling stole it. If you have a pet, tell them that it swallowed your retainer.

Instead of trying to think up a believable lie, how about telling the truth and taking responsibility for your careless attitude?  The retainers cost money, obviously that doesn't mean anything to you because you've not had to pay for them - time to grow up and start acting like you deserve the privileges you have.  Call your friend and ask to make arrangements to get your retainer back.

Might the retainer still be at the location where the party was?  If the party was in a field or something, probably not.  But if it was at a house, maybe it's still there.

The best excuse I saw among the Answers was "I wrapped it in a napkin while I was eating (at McDonalds, at Taco Bell, at school) and accidentally thew it away."

Uhhmm I think that the best thing to do would be to tell the truth. Just say that you lost it. That way, your teeth won't get messed up &you can get a new one.

If you have a dog, you could say that you took it out to eat something and the dog ate it lol.I had braces for like a year and I think the retainer was more annoying than the braces.I'm pretty bad about losing stuff but my parents are pretty gullible.

Another good excuse is that you were eating and accidentally threw it away.That's pretty common.

You need to stop making excuses and own up to it. Why did you even left the retainer at a friend's party in the first place? You're only going to make it worst by lying to your mom and the orthondist because sooner or later you'll run out of excuses and get caught.

Come clean. That's the best way out of this situation. Granted, your mom will be upset. She will have to pay for another retainer for you, OR you can own up to it and tell her that you'll pay her back for the retainer when you get a job. Good luck.

Haha! That's funny!! Say that you had it in and you stuck your head out the window to feel the breeze go through your hair and it flew out, and then the car behind you guys ran it over, oh and then it went in the gutter and you saw a rat run away with it!!...
