Lost texas title from deceased family member?

Question

my son in law got his grandpas 75 honda cb200 when he died.

he gave it to me because he didnt have any use from it. how do i go about getting a lost title in texas since the man is deceased?

i was going to fill the VTR-34 form out but it requires the owners signature.

please help

Well I know if you have a car that has no title, and you do not know who the owners are, for example when you've had the car for a long time, you have to register for a bonded title. You hold the bonded title for 3 years, then you can get a normal title. I'm not sure if this could be the same answer for your situation, but you can usually call your counties Tax Assessor's Office and ask.
