I can't say i've been paying much attention to it, more so in the past. But lately over the last few months i've been overhearing everynow and then about one new earthquake after another. Is it just me or have there been quite a few pretty bad earthquakes happening? Don't know if it's relatively common, just curious if it's something bad beginning to develop.

  1. Yes.The occurrences of earth quakes are more from the past several years. Particularly after Sumatra Tsunami. Some body blames global warming. But exact reason is not known. Earthquakes of less than 5 in Richter scales are not widely published. There are frequent earthquakes reported between 5 and 6 from different parts of the world. The dangerous earth quakes are more than 7 in Richter scale. This is happening once in six months. But frequent earthquakes of less than 6 is good to avoid the major earthquakes.Because the earth quake means releasing the accumulated stress at tectonic plate boundary. If the stress are released then and there we are safe that those places may not be affected by major one..

  2. Its the earth getting revenge on the damage we're doing to it... lol

Earthquakes do happen often, its only when there is a massive one that it comes back up in the headlines. Most tremors go unnoticed.

  3. Earthquakes are common in and near tectonic plates. So, if you overheard that there is a new earthquake after another, that is that place is in or near the tectonic plates.

  4. it's obviously something bad happening because due to global warming the earths core is gradually heating up and for the core too heat up earthqaukes are needed for magma to build up....global warming is helping by genraully ausesing more gaps around the ozone layer which causes earhtqaukes to happen more frequently....sorry if it's too complicated...
