Both teams are undoubtedly the best in Germany and will be looking to stamp their authority over each other by winning the crown. He admitted that the Reds had been below-par against the Borussians in their last four outings but
insisted that the stats will not have any role to play when the two teams meet in few days time.
Matthaus mentioned that both sides have an equal chance of winning the title and expects a gripping spectacle. He mused that Bayern will be more under pressure against their fiercest Bundesliga rivals as Jupp Heynckes’ men will
be eager to win and stop their winless run against the Westfalenstadion outfit.
While talking to sports publication, Kicker, the 51-year-old further added: "I expect a gripping final. Having their poor record against Dortmund on their mind will only push Bayern to give their all in arresting that slide. The
recently poor head-to-head form of Bayern against Dortmund does not signify a shift in the balance of power so many are suggesting.”
On the other hand, Matthaus believed that Bayern possess a more attacking line-up and therefore stand a better chance against Dortmund. He also urged his former employers to give their all against the confident Bundesliga champions
who have emerged as a huge surprise in the past two seasons.
Despite Dortmund already sporting a mature side, Bayern have proven they can beat any team in the world if they want to. In being able to call on slightly better individuals, Bayern Munich have the advantage," Matthaus concluded.
This DFB-Pokal title also presents a chance to both sides to complete a double this season. The Black Yellows have also won this year’s Bundesliga while the Munich giants also find themselves in the final of the UEFA Champions
League which will be played against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at the Allianz Arena on May 19.
