The Aquile President has thanked the tactician for the remarkable results in the face of criticism at Rome, and assures that the doors of the Eagles will always remain open for him.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 President Claudio Lotito has written an open letter for Edy Reja, who announced his resignation from the Biancocelesti following his failure to capture a UEFA Champions League qualification.
The former Eagles manager also threatened to resign twice during the course of the season, but was convinced to stay at the club until the end of the campaign.
In the opening of the letter, the Lazio chief stated that while he respects the tactician’s decision to part company with the capital outfit, the news of his departure was heart-breaking for the club and its fans.
The Aquile executive extolled the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 manager, stating that his leadership has seen the Biancocelesti rise to new heights, and also inhaled a newfound unity into the squad to make them a stronger unit.
The 55-year-old wrote:
“Dear Coach, although respecting your decision to cease your collaboration with Lazio, I cannot help but represent the sincere disappointment with which I personally, the club and the players took the news. Your management has taken this team to important
results over the last two years and you had the merit of creating a solid and coherent ‘group,’ thanks to the character you gave them.”
Lotito went on to praise the 66-year-old manager for not only exhibiting strength in the face of severe criticism, but also protecting the players under him from the denunciation.
The Aquile chief stated that the Rome outfit will always remain indebted to him for his services to the club, and for the lessons that he has taught them.
The Italian entrepreneur stressed that he is certain that the love of Lazio will always remain in Reja’s heart, and he will always cherish his time in Rome as the finest of his career.
The President added that the doors at Formello will always remain open for the tactician, and he will be welcomed with affection and respect if he chooses to return.
