Lots of Flys?

Question

Ok well in my house we are very clean people and my father always tells us not to were our shoes in the house. Dont leave screen doors open. Dont leave food out. All that stuff and we never had a problem with bugs. All of a sudden one day theres this fly near the window. No big deal we kill it and go on with out life. A few minutes later theres another same spot. That day we must of killed 8 or 10 flys total. Around that area? Now its been a bout a week and every once in a while theres one in that spot. Why are there a lot of flys?? What should we do?

fly's are nasty and full of germs...grab ya and flys water and kill them! i have a somewhat clean house and everytime when the door opens i swear 60 of them fly on in....

Flies have been known to nest in the strangest areas, from laundry baskets to sink drains. The best thing to do is pick a lazy day and watch the flies. Find out where they frequent. Clean that area(s) and perhaps put a fly stip up near there. Or, something more entertaining- get a Venus fly trap or a pitcher plant and place them in the area- entertaining, interesting and you'll get rid of the flies! (You can pick them up at your local plant store or Lowes)

Sounds like your very clean. Just keep on doing what your doing and kill them and they will go away. If it gets really bad start to clean everywhere where there is food because they are probably nesting in some bad food somewhere.

there are lots of different flies and all can have different habitats.

1)large size with a shiny blue or green abdomen these are flesh flies and feed of dead animals or decomposing meat can be a dead mouse to a piece of meat product that has fallen by stove or fridge

2)small black (looks like a house fly but smaller) drain fly coming from a very wet area,floor drain feeds on rotting organic matter

3)small reddish colour fruit flies feeds on decomposing or very ripe fruit or vegetables

4)cluster fly large black kinda hairy fly invades homes in the fall to over winter most noticeable in warm days on windows in Feb and March

5)go to the Orkin pest control web site and see if you can key it out
