Lots of Symbols Into An Image?

What do you call lots of symbols that turn in to an image. ex) like a heart or the finger... and what I mean when i say symbol is: #%&* or something like that... where can i find pre-made ones? And what are they called?

they're called "ascii art", which incidentally is an excellent way to find them on google.
