I found out I have lice. my friend just made me lean my head over the bathtub and run my head under hot water and wash it really well. before that it was olived-oiled and wrapped in saran wrap. then she rinsed it out and got a comb and went through it to get some of the nits out...we really didnt know what we were doing lol. Then she found an actual louse...it was pretty big. She got it out and rinsed it down the drain. Do you think that was the queen? and did anything we did help?

  1. Throw away your brushes, sheets, and pillow case and go out to a rite aide or drug store and buy a lice comb!

  2. You need to go to Walgreens or Walmart and get some RID or something like it. Follow the instruction to the T.

Here is a link that gives other advice.

    http://www.cdc.gov/lice/head/treatment.h...

You may also want to wash all bedding and such, if you have them this bad they could be in our bedding and clothes.

  3. Wash everything boil it. Brushes, combs, hats, sheets, bedding. Get RID or call and get script from doc for this. Hightly contagious. Good luck

  4. I work at a school.  You need to go buy the Rid at the drug store.  It's only like 5 or 6 dollars.  You also need to wash all hats, bedding etc. in hot water.

  5. So sorry that you have lice - they are very very hard to get rid of....

Best thing that has worked (if you are old enough) is to die your hair. That will kill them... Then you need someone to go through you hair strand by strand and use two finger nails to basically scrape the hair and pull the egg out. They stick to the hair, and can be hard to get out. You then need to pop each egg between your thumbnails... this will make sure they are dead. After you dye your hair, the chemicals will kill them better than the stuff they sell at the pharmacy. Mayo and chemical treatments and olive oil dont work as well as they used to. They have super lice now - they are really hard to get rid of.

Good Luck! Dont forget to use borax soap on your carpets and furniture, vaccuum well and wash all your bedding and dry in a commerical dryer (they have high heat temps than the ones we have at home). Throw away all hair accessories and brushes. Make sure you have your friend check your hair every day for 10 days. The eggs take 10 days to hatch, and after then, you should be in the clear!! Oh, and throw away any hats you wear!!!

  6. well combing it with a lice comb helps but does not get all of them.

There is a product at the pharmacy that KILLS the lice and then eventually will kill the nits.

(gawd my head is itching while I am typing this!)

You put the poison on your hair/// comb it through and then wait and put it on again.

If you are willing to shave your head then it will all work faster!

Like the other one said ... WASH EVERYTHING in hot water. Pillows / pillow cases/ hats/ shirts (the eggs fall down on them) sheets/ blankets  ....

    good luck

  7. okay go to Walgreen's and your going to need this lice shampoo stuff, nit combs, and bedding and fabric spray that gets rid of lice.

follow the directions with the shampoo and it'll probably require use of the nit combs. spray EVERYTHING that comes in contact with your head with the bedding and fabric spray. pillowcases, sheets, couches, backpack, chairs and so on. then put what you can in the wash. then do the olive oil thing again but comb your hair out with the nit comb this time to make sure you get anything that the shampoo didnt kill.

    good luck :]

  8. First of all, you need to go to a drug store and purchase RID or a lice killer, so to speak... Ask your mom to help you and get her to go through every inch of your scalp with the lice comb.  Also, purchase tea tree oil and after you've done your RID treatment and combing apply tea tree oil to your scalp and hair and (I know this sounds rediculous) put a plastic bag over your hair (kind of like when you are dying your hair).... Leave it on your head over night.  In the morning wash it out.

As everybody else was saying... put all of your clothes, bedding, etc in the wash and dryer.  Put all stuffed animals in garbage bags for at least 72 hours (if they dont have any human hair to live in they will die). Do not share hats, brushes, hair elastics, shirts that go over your head or anything that goes over your head with any of your friends in case you pass it to them or they were the ones who passed it to you... Try not to hug too much and keep your hair away from everyone elses until you are sure it is completely gone.

Ask your mom to go through your hair and check your scalp every night until you know it's completely gone.

    Good luck!
