  8. No, I often use those terms just to see if the "suggested category" is P/S, last time when I asked favorite movie with "Poll" before it, suggested category was "sports-hockey",

    other times I use it when the question may be construed as being of an adult nature or don't want to be accused of "chatting"

  9. mostly it's just for fun!  but I did one poll once for my business to find out what people want!  It didn't work out.. I got a violation!  Violation cause someone said it wasn't a question!

  11. No, because most of us use pseudonyms as our user names. Also, our residential address details are not displayed, so the info would be useless to them.

    For all they know, the professional research companies would never use a forum like this, as some questions that are answered may not be fact or academically verified.

    The "Poll" or "Survey" is used as a get out of jail free card, to reduce the chances of receiving violation notices from Yahoo. It's mainly used for fun too!
