The LPGA is returning to Hawaii after 3 years, a move that is sure to motivate players and officials.
LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan said that the event is staged just weeks following the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
He said that Lotte has been taking keen interest in boosting the image of women’s golf across the world and its cooperation with the LPGA will prove fruitful for both parties.
He further said that LGPGA and Lott are now more than just partners, as the cooperation has deepened their business relations.
“As Lotte sets its sights on global expansion, we couldn’t be more proud to be their business partner in this venture, and we look forward to spreading their brand and other businesses together on a global stage,” Whan said.
He went on, “We are honored that such an established and well-respected conglomerate like LOTTE has chosen the LPGA to expand its global platform. Through this tournament, we will align LOTTE’s tremendous success and prosperity with the LPGA and increase
our visibility as Asia’s top global conglomerate".
Whan was optimistic about the competitiveness of the tournament, saying there will be a number of prominent players in the roster.
Speaking about the re-opening of the tournament in Hawaii, Whan said that he and LPGA officials had been receiving demands to stage the event again.
Now with the event back to its old place, players will put their best foot forward on the course.
He said that LPGA has been a bit careless about Hawaii, as it did not pay attention to the region that is ripe for golf.
After the re-opening of the tournament, the local fans and players have shown enthusiasm, as they are going to witness the events after a break of 3 years.
