Lottery winner?has anyone ever received an email from a place in the uk...?

I just received an email from a place called "cashout loyalty" and they said i won a bunch of money in a special pool that my email was associated with??? looks legit..but of course we all want to believe that when money is involved...is this for real?

Your e-mail address which was attached to these LuckyNumbers: xxxxx and a Bonus Number x, was among the ten(10)selected winners and I'm delighted to notify you that your e-mail has wonNine Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Eight Hundred and TenPounds(£915,810.00). To claim your Award, simply FORWARD this mail to ourRemittance Agent now with his details below:---------------------------------M... MOORERemittance Dept,National Loyalty CashOut, London.

So do you think this could be for real??? I know there are alot of people from the UK on here, so im wondering if its for real, im in the USA..

  1. check the sender (i don't mean the name that's displayed, check out the details.  what's the actual email address?) and that is a very good indicator of whether or not it's real.  most have something like "abby@asldkfjwoeihtsngs.com" or something similar.  pretty fake.  if you REALLY need to dig into it though, you can do a WHOIS lookup on asldkfjwoeihtsngs.com or w/e and it will show whoever registered that address (though the data is probably fake)


  2. I don't think this is real....check the "TO" field in that message...check if they have exactly your email address alone in the TO field...if it shows up as "Undisclosed Recepient" or if it has your email address and some other email address that has similar beginnings with your email add..then beware!!! that is a spam letter!
