Lotus Renault GP boss Eric Boullier not satisfied with German Grand Prix performance – Formula 1
Lotus Renault GP team principal Eric Boullier has recently stated that he is not satisfied with his team’s performance as they secured a single point at the 2011 Formula 1 German Grand Prix.
With the Hungarian Grand Prix taking place this weekend, it seems that the team does not have much time to upgrade its car either.
“It was not good enough, and at the Hungarian GP we will try and get back on track, although there will be no significant revisions to the car until after the summer break,” he said.
Vitaly Petrov secured the lone point for the team which was very disappointing as the team has not been able to score some consistent points this season. It was believed that they would be amongst the top running teams of the sport but after the first couple
of races, the picture completely changed.
“I've expected improvement from our car for a number of races now, and we are making improvement, but we have got to get our heads down and make bigger strides. It's a competitive field out there, with Force India and Sauber also competing in higher positions,
so we've got to raise our game starting in Hungary,” said Boullier.
The team secured two podium positions during the beginning of the 2011 Formula 1 season after which they were looking very good and consistent. After that, their performance started to deteriorate and since then, it is going down.
The team has not been able to score good consistent double point finishes since then and now it seems that their chances of improving before the upcoming race are quite low as well since the Hungarian Grand Prix is expected to take place this coming weekend.
After that, there is going to be a month-long break during which the team will have the time to evaluate its performance and maybe improve its car.
