Lotus-Renault might start 2012 season without Robert Kubica – Formula 1 news
It is very likely that Lotus-Renault might start the 2012 Formula 1 season without their injured driver Robert Kubica.
The team boss Eric Boullier talked to the media and said that he was waiting of Kubica’s response for re-joining them until the 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but still he did not get any answer from him.
He added that maybe they will start the next F1 season without Kubica.
Boullier commented, “I am patient because I am committed morally to him; he was very important to us. If we find ourselves in a situation for him to come back, even in the middle of the year, I will try to bring him back but I can do no more. If he speaks
to no one then what can I say? October was a key moment for him but unfortunately I don't think he is ready yet.”
He went on to mention, “What we know already is that Robert cannot commit to a deadline, so we must keep an ongoing communication plan. Obviously we want him back, so it may be during the (2012) season. Why not?”
Apart from that, Boullier stated that he will try his best to bring him back in the team for the next season’s races.
He also mentioned that he does not think Kubica is ready yet for driving in Formula 1.
On the other site, Renault are disappointed with their recently held Abu Dhabi race weekend show.
Both of the drivers Vitaly Petrov and Bruno Senna were unable to make progress in their R31 cars throughout the Grand Prix.
Petrov started the race from the 12th position at the Yas Marina racetrack and after running for his best possible finish, he ended up in the 13th spot for the team.
His teammate Senna came at the 16th position ahead of Lotus driver Heikki Kovalainen after starting from the 14th spot on the grid.
After completing 18 rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season so far, the team Lotus-Renault are sitting at the fifth place with 72 points in the constructors’ standings.
Let’s see how the team drivers perform in the last round of the ongoing season in Brazil.
