Lotus driver Jarno Trulli hopeful of getting better results from upcoming Monza GP – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Jarno Trulli is hopeful of getting better results from the upcoming Monza race, which will take place on September 11, 2011 in Italy.
Trulli has said that the team has good race pace from the last couple of races of the 2011 Formula 1 season. However, he added that he is hopeful they can get satisfactory results from the Italian race this weekend.
The team driver talked to the media and mentioned that Lotus’ T128 car was supportive for the team in the 2011 Belgium Grand Prix. In addition, he stated that the team fixed the power steering issue of his car ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix and he used
it throughout the race weekend as well.
After using a revised power steering in the Hungarian race weekend, the Italian driver is confident for the rest of the season. He added that he can do better in the remainder of the ongoing season with his better package.
Trulli commented, “Monza’s a funny one for me. As an Italian everyone expects it to be the most special race of the season for me, but really it’s not. I can’t really afford to treat it differently to any other race, as I want to make sure I can focus on
the job every day.”
He went on to mention, “Obviously the good thing for me is that it’s close to my home, so I do get to catch up with lots of people who I don’t normally have time to see, but ever since I started racing.”
The 37-year-old driver is still unable to score a single point for Team Lotus in the season so far. He had a power steering issue from the start of the ongoing season and due to that, he has been unable to finish his best run on the grid so far.
The team driver will take part in the upcoming Italian race weekend with a revised power steering.
Let’s see how he manages his race with a better package at Monza racetrack.
