Lotus driver Romain Grosjean believes Silverstone will suit E21 – Formula 1 News
Lotus driver, Romain Grosjean, has said that they are looking forward to perform well in the 2013 British Grand Prix and believes that Silverstone circuit will suit their car, E21.
Grosjean said that the track of the next race has many high speed corners which make it one of the most fantastic circuits in the F1 calendar. Furthermore, he insisted that their car will hopefully suit the circuit and their update
package will provide them a competitive edge over other contenders. In addition, he said that they are aiming to perform well in their home race and are hoping to get full support from their fans.
“(Silverstone) is a fantastic track with a lot of high speed corners which should suit the E21; especially with the upgrade package we have for it. It’s a home race for myself and the team so we’re sure to have a lot of support,”
Grosjean said.
Besides, he said that he shares some great memories with the Silverstone circuit where he claimed victory in 2011 GP2 Series and scored some good points in his debut. He also said that he is positively targeting to attain competitive
results in the approaching race.
“I won there in the GP2 Series in 2011, so I have to say I quite like it! I also scored points on my Silverstone Formula 1 debut so it’s a run of results I’d like to continue,” he said.
“Silverstone is challenging, but it has a good feel,” he added.
At present, the French driver is standing at 9th place in the drivers’ championship with 26 points. Moreover, he is ahead of his major rival, Jenson Button of McLaren and behind Paul di Resta of Force India. He secured
an incredible third podium finish in the Bahrain GP after taking a start from 11th grid position which is his best performance in the season until now.
Even though, he has not been able to score even a single point in the last three races. Nonetheless, he is confidently eying to attain good results in the season ahead. It will be exciting to see how he performs in the British
GP this weekend.
