Lotus driver Romain Grosjean hopes to come up stronger in 2013 Chinese GP – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Romain Grosjean has said that he is hoping to come up stronger in the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix after facing few difficulties with his car in the first
two races of the season.
Grosjean could only secure 10th place finish in the Australian GP held at Albert Park in Melbourne after taking a start from 8th grid slot.
Later, he performed convincingly well in the second race at Sepang International Circuit and came 6th after setting off from 11th grid position.
The Frenchman has said that he has not been able to show his full potential as he faced few difficulties with his car in the first two grands prix. Nevertheless,
he asserted that he is positively looking forward to perform well in the next race which is going to be held at Shanghai International Circuit in China on April 14.
“It's been a little frustrating as I don't think I've shown my full potential yet,” he said. “The first two races were quite difficult for me and I would really
like a weekend where I can show what myself and the team can do this season. We've got great potential, I just need to unlock it. Hopefully we'll find the key in China.”
Although, he said that they have made some remarkable progress during this year’s pre-season testing programme. But, he expressed that he has not been able to show
up consistency in his pace until now.
“We have definitely made progress,” he said. “It's been frustrating for me as sometimes the car gives me what I want and sometimes it doesn't, even if the conditions
and setup are very similar.”
Nevertheless, he said that they are targeting to make some essential developments in their car so as to improve its pace to attain competitive results in the season
ahead.
It will be important to mention that the French driver could not score points with consistency in 2012 and faced a lot of criticism over his rough driver style
due to which many accidents happened. Nonetheless, he has started this season with highest hopes. Let’s see how he performs in the season ahead.
