Lotus team principal Eric Boullier admires Raikkonen, Grosjean – Formula 1 news
Lotus team principal, Eric Boullier has admired his pair of drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean who have performed quite convincingly in 2012 Formula 1 season so far.
“I want two fast drivers because that is the way you get ahead in the constructors' championship. So both drivers have the same status. Obviously Kimi, tends to have a certain degree of leadership but, in fact, it is not leadership but probably more attention.
On the other hand, Romain is digging a little place for himself nicely and is getting a lot of respect every weekend from the team,” he said.
He added, “You must not forget that Kimi has done something in the range of 160 grands prix and Romain has just finished his twelfth grand prix.”
The Finnish driver made his comeback in F1 after spending two years in World Rally Championship. However, he has been able to deliver some impressive performances in the season until now.
He is currently standing at 4th place in the drivers’ championship with 49 points. Furthermore, he is 4 points behind Lewis Hamilton of McLaren and just one point ahead of Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing.
