  1. go with larger area speakers. when you choose right one, it will hit helly deep. quality is not issue, and won't affect the speaker only because it is bigger. There is many 18" and some 21" speakers with quality ten times better than all car audio speakers :-)

  2. I'd rather have 2 12"s than 3 10s. So go for 3 12"s if thats what you want.

  3. tens sub are great if you want the low low bass out of them tens sub all you need is a well built enclosures perhaps ported/vented..10 inch woofer gives out more clear bass then 12 inch woofer but 12 inch woofer could get louder then 10 inch woofer...(Clear vs. Loud)

  4. you should read the frequency range of the speakers to see how receptive they are to low frequencies ( Low bass).  some 10 inch woofers actually hit lower than some 12 inch woofers, if they are designed right.  Typically though, the bigger the woofer, the lower it will hit.  Just make sure you have proper midrange in place, like some 6 1/2 inch speakers in the back or front-

I have had one 12 inch go lower than three, because the enclosure was designed to pick up low frequencies.  the design of the box will make a difference.  putting one or two 12 inch woofers in a 4th order bandpass enclosure instead of 3 woofers in a typical ported box will produce a lower bass resonance.
