Loud music while driving?

Question

I live in New York (and New Jersey during the summer). For these two states, when am I allowed to blast the music in my car? And during the times that I am not allowed to do this- how loud can the music go?

crank it up and if you get a ticket, mark the time in a notebook. then refer to your notes and at that time turn it down. or you could have some consideration for others around you and have the volumn so you can hear it but not loud enough for everyone in the state to hear
