Loughside Jack in the limelight of the entries for the Bedford Road Puppy on 22nd February
Chances and credentials for a definite success in the Bedford Road Puppy at Henlow on Wednesday, 23rd February are with the two-year-old Loughside Jack. The race is over 460 metres and is to be contested by six hounds. Besides Loughside Jack, Droopys Aura, Forest Yeats and Forest Bonjo have struck wins in their most recent outings.
If there is anyone who has found the new season a blessing, it is Eskimo Jack’s black son out of b***h Fantastic. There is only one race that the dog missed out of the six times that Loughside Jack raced.
He claimed his seasonal debut victory during his very first start, on 15th January, Loughside Jack won the January 375 Maiden at Mildenhall. This the two-year-old achieved in contention with the 6/4 favourite of the race, Blackrosemustang, who finished right behind the winner.
He got beaten by 6 ¾ lengths in his next start and dropped down to the fifth position however, Loughside Jack did not take long to get composed and bounce back on the field. From 27th January to 16th February, he stretched a winning streak of four.
He was entered as a favourite in the last three starts that he made.
Another capable entry on the lineup of the race is Forest Bonjo, Royal Impact’s two-year-old son out of b***h Forest Swallow. Trained by P. Foster, the dog began his 2012 campaign on 5th January. He was second behind the winner Markeys Dragon who was leading by 1 ½ length.
He recorded his seasonal debut victory on 10th January in a 480 metres race. He clocked the distance in 29.32 seconds, leading by 4 ¼ lengths and setting Lemon Angel into the second position.
After an unfortunate sixth and fifth finishing in two races, Forest Bonjo got the reigns back in his hands and claimed the final two starts.
Forest Bonjo won the Grade A1 480 metre flat race on 28th January at Swindon. The 5/2 favourite of the race, Coolykereen Lee finished fourth. On 1st February, Forest Bonjo won the Swindon Puppy Standard. He covered the 480 metres distance in 28.74 seconds while the 4/6 favourite of the race, Borna George parked behind the winner.
