Louie Caporusso and Jakob Silfverberg join hands with the Ottawa Senators in its hunt to bring success to the team
Ottawa Senators, believed to be in a construction phase since the regular season, is starting to bring in some players, recently signing Luie Caporusso and Jakob Silfverberg.
At the trade deadline last year, it was successful in signing a star goalkeeper, Craig Anderson. He was able to bag a number of wins for the team, almost singlehandedly. There were times when Senators looked down and out but he managed to win games.
Now that the season is over and Senators can focus on the upcoming season, it will be hoping to come up with a much better performance this time.
Last Monday, the team revealed that they have signed two superb players, Louie Caporusso and Jakob Silfverberg.
Louie Caporusso was signed with a two year deal with the team while Jakob Silfverberg signed a contract that would keep him in Ottawa for the next three years.
Caporusso has done quite well this season while playing for the University of Michigan. His team went all the way into the NCAA Championships this April.
He plays in a central position and with the skills and talent that he possesses, he has been able to make a name for himself.
He played a total of 41 games during this season and scored a total of 11 goals while piling up a huge total of 20 assists.
His overall career with the team has witnessed him scoring 68 goals and stacking up 76 assists out of 160 games that he has played, associated with the team.
Silfverberg, on the other hand, has been playing for the Swedish side, Brynas, of the Swedish Elite League.
He was superb last season to say the least as he scored a total of 18 goals and bagged 16 assists out of the 53 games that he played.
He led the team at the end of the season with most goals and was third in the list for the highest number of assists.
