The Montpellier Herault president has revealed that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morocco-c2961 international is on the verge of leaving Stade de la Mosson, but has stressed that the club will not accept anything less than 15 million Euros for the midfielder
According to reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899, the 22-year-old is set to quit the reigning French champions in January with the likes of Fenerbahce and Tottenham Hotspur interested in acquiring the signature of the promising youngster.
Montpellier president, Louis Nicollin has admitted that couple of clubs have formally approached the Ligue 1 outfit for the signature of Belhanda. While talking to reporters, the 69-year-old stated that in his view, the player wants to leave and MHSC will
not stand in his way.
"I think he [Belhanda] wants to leave.”
The president said that he is not angry with Belhanda’s decision to leave and he was expecting such decision. Nicollin added that since the start of the season, the 22-year-old hasn't been in the right frame of mind and he has failed to live up to the expectations.
"I'm not angry but since the start of the season I don't think he's met expectations or lived up to the promise he'd shown.”
The owner of the club said that it’s completely normal and he respects Belhanda’s decision to quit La Paillade. The midfielder wants to kick-start his career somewhere else and the president feels that the career of the 22-year-old with the French club is
all but over.
“It's normal that he wants to move on and catch fire elsewhere. I think it's finished for him at Montpellier.”
On a question regarding Younes Belhanda’s 15 million Euros price tag, Louis Nicollin said that Montpellier will not sell the player for less than that because he is worth it. If http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 can be sold for 42 million Euros, the 22-year-old is worth 15 million
Euros.
"The price? If it rises to 15 million euros then everything's good. Hazard left Lille for 42 million euros. Today, Belhanda isn't even ankle-high to Hazard, even if I said in the past that he had two Hazard's in his legs. I think he's worth 15 million nevertheless."
