Louis Oosthuizen; I bought the tractor for my farm
Who wants customized cars and lavish gadgets? Louis Oosthuizen purchased a £850,000 worth custom built John Deere tractor.
The South African seems to be really down to earth .This can be seen easily with the kind of purchase he did after becoming the British Open Champion and winning £1000, 000. Although lavish lifestyle and uncountable endorsements are in the pipe line but the first purchase shows the kind of simple life style Louis Oosthuizen wants.
The purchase is simple but not cheap, it is worth £850000 and it is a matter of free will and personal preference that has overtaken the decision of buying a normal sports car.
Louis Oosthuizen is going to get a baby seat fitted in it for his daughter Jana. He is only fulfilling his dream when he was a kid. With a background of a farm boy this was the first thing which Louis Oosthuizen wanted to buy. According to him he bought the tractor for his farm the way Gary Player did after his first win in 1959.
As far as other boys are concerned Rory Mcilroy bought a Ferrari right after he earned his name in the top paid ranks. On the other hand Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke already have a big love for fast cars.
The love and passion for golf can be seen by the actions of the big star. Like all other winners he could have taken a week off and rested but this champ accepted the invitation presented to him of Scandinavian Masters. He immediately accepted it and headed straight towards the venue to honour his commitment.
Nordea Scandinavian masters are to be held at the Bro Hof Slott Golf Club near Stockholm; from 22nd July to 25th of July. The tournament that started in 1991 has prize money of €2 million, of which €333,330 will go the winner.
The course is designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., and it is stretched on 7,365 yards with a par 72. This is the same course on which Colin Montgomerie had three victories.
The 27 year old Louis Oosthuizen will be facing the defending champion Ricardo Gonzalez. The tournament will be on air on Sky Sports 3, Thursday at 9.30-11.30, and Friday at 2.30-4.30; Saturday and Sunday 11.30-3.30.The weather forecasts cloudy and sunny weather on the first two days of the tournament but overcast conditions are expected to prevail during the weekend.
Rich and famous is the new middle name for the South African and to enjoy it he flew all the way to Sweden in his private jet. So Louis Oosthuizen has bought a jet as well! but when?
The boy from Mossel Bay was indulged in a conversation after the first time private jet experience with another luxury high flyer and two times champion Greg Norman. After the conversation he told the press that Greg Norman said an astonishing thing that the new champ will remember for the rest of his life. Greg said Louis Oosthuizen is the first person to get him to watch a full round of golf on television. He watched his first shot (on Sunday) to his last and could not leave the couch.
Louis Oosthuizen is still excited after his seven-stroke victory which moved him up from 54th to 15th in the world rankings. Not only this but it has also opened many doors to fame, endorsements and more tournaments like PGA grand slam and Nordea Scandinavian masters.
“Confidence-wise it’s going to help,” he added. “I now tee it up every round knowing I am good enough. When you win one (major) you start looking for your second, then third, you never stop.”
Louis Oosthuizen will be joined by Sweden’s 2008 European number one Robert Karlsson, Jesper Parnevik, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Rory Sabbatini, KJ Choi, Peter Lawrie, Damien McGrane, Michael Hoey, Simon Thornton and Gary Murphy.
It looks like Louis Oosthuizen is all set to catch his plane and take part in the European tour and then head back from the airport in his brand new customized 850,000 pounds tractor.
