Louis Oosthuizen and Alvaro Quiros set up a golf clinic in the Maybank Malaysian Open – Golf News
The two South African golf stars, Louis Oosthuizen and Alvaro Quiros, held a golf clinic at the East Course of the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club after the first round of the Malaysian Open on Thursday, April 12, 2012.
Both the players spent over an hour to have an interactive session with the guests who had arrived at the camp.
They answered each and every question that was put up for them by the audience. They mainly focused on educating people through live demonstration on how they can improve their swing techniques.
Moreover, the audience learned some useful information that can be used in the development of their game.
According to Oosthuizen, these types of interactive sessions can really help in improving the standards of the game as more people will get interested in playing good golf.
Moreover, it also gives the players a chance to pass on the knowledge and expertise they have to the upcoming generation.
Oosthuizen looked really confident and happy while he was answering the questions he was asked. The reason of his happiness was the opening round performance of six-under par 66.
He lost to Bubba Watson on the second extra hole in the playoffs in the Masters Tournament last week.
Therefore, a good start in the Malaysian Open really boosted his morale and hunger for the second win of the season.
"Last week certainly has given me a lot of confidence on that golf course because I had never made the cut there but now I know I can play the course," he said about his performance in the Masters. "I'm just looking to continue my good form really".
Prior to the start of the first round of the Malaysian Open, he said:
"I think the first round will be pretty tough because of the tiredness, but after that and after some good rest hopefully we can play well. I am just going to try and play the way that I have done for the last few weeks".
It seems that he succeeded in what he said about maintaining his momentum of playing well.
