Louis Oosthuizen cards a decent score on the second day of the Alfred Dunhill Championship
Louis Oosthuizen, the South African golf professional, had a horrible first day on the Leopard Creek Golf Club course, which is host to the ongoing event – Alfred Dunhill Championship.
It took the South African, eight shots to complete the third hole during the first round. He went on to score a one-over 73 in the first round.
With all the players crowded at the top of the leaderboard, Gregory Bourdy managed to pull off a one-shot lead over everybody.
The Frenchman, Bourdy, played magnificently and rightly claimed the top spot of the leaderboard.
Oosthuizen has a better track record than the Frenchman but he failed to perform on the first day. When Oosthuizen came out on the second day, he seemed like a changed man.
Things started off nicely for the South African, as he recorded a birdie on the second hole. He carded a total of six birdies, which came on the 2nd, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th and the 16th hole.
As compared to his first day’s performance, Oosthuizen played remarkably. The South African needs to raise the level of his game a few notches more so that he can close up on the top of the leaderboard.
Oosthuizen is one of the best golfers South Africa has produced. With his countryman and dear friend, Charl Schwartzel, Oosthuizen has managed to make a strong impression of South Africa on the golf tours.
Both the players are considered to be one of the best in the business.
The Alfred Dunhill Championship has seen a high level of golf up till now. The players are competing with all their might in order to get their hands on the trophy.
Meanwhile, the venue has additional features that mesmerize the fans and the players alike. Apart from its stunning landscapes, it is not uncommon to witness wild animals roaming around the course.
For Oosthuizen to make a name for himself among the locals, he will have to perform well at the tournament underway on his home soil.
There is still plenty of time left and, therefore, a likely comeback from the South African, Oosthuizen will be a possibility.
