Louis Oosthuizen is arrogant...NOT
It has been around 5 months since Louis Oosthuizen won his first Open Championship of the year and it has been an eternity since he hasn’t acted in a conceited manner.
No matter how much Oosthuizen parties, his gap-toothed grin remains the same and no matter how much he celebrates his victories, his warm hello is still fraternal. With the punch on the shoulder and the wisecrack he is, Oosthuizen
till now, has remained the same person he was when he first walked into the fields.
Oosthuizen won the Open Championship in the month of July against Lee Westwood where the twenty eight year old held an overall 7 stroke margin and a 4 stroke lead over the 54 holes. Oosthuizen is the winner of the 2008 Telkom PGA
Championship and the winner of the Dimension Data Pro-Am, the Telkom PGA Championship and the Platinum Classic from the year 2007. Except, no matter how many wins he grabs, he is still the same genuine, humble and engaging golfer he was before.
Despite of holding the trophy that defines the best week of his life, Oosthuizen is one proud South African and is highly excited to be home for the Dunhill championship at Leopard Creek.
The Dunhill championship was held from the 9th of December till the 13th of this month and was a stark combination of opposition and rivalry. Oosthuizen came home to spend an amazing summer on his home sod,
busy enjoying and rejuvenating in the familiar surroundings of South Africa.
The all-humble golfer played the Nedbank Golf Challenge some weeks back and somehow faltered a little bit due to a stomach bug at the Sun City. As far as the Dunhill championship is concerned, the twenty eight year old golfer failed
to qualify for the remaining two rounds of the championship with only a one stroke deficit.
With two troubled events now, Oosthuizen still has the South African Open to be played at Durban Country Club as an addition to his victory basket. The week’s National Open that is being held for the 100th time includes
a sizeable amount of competition and includes the likes of Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and Tim Clark in headlining.
The event is scheduled to be held at South Africa's most established and finest venues and is taking place after 6 years. A place which Oosthuizen finds comfortable to play at, the venue is situated close to the coast and will
host the event for a record 17th time.
