Louis Oosthuizen is in the field of the Maybank Malaysian Open
Louis Oosthuizen is on board now, and will be playing the upcoming European’s Tour Maybank Malaysian Open, from April 12 to 15, 2012.
The 29-year-old South African Professional has confirmed recently that he will display his leading skills at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“Over the years, the Maybank Malaysian Open has cemented its status as one of the region's most prestigious national Opens and the 2012 edition is building up to be just as successful as the previous editions,” said John Eu, Chief Executive Officer of GlobalOne.
Oosthuizen currently holds the 27th rank in the Official World Golf Rankings and has played two European Tour, three PGA Tour and two World Golf Championships staged events since January.
His performance in 2012 is amazing so far. He started the year from European’s Tour Africa Open and successfully won the title by scoring 27-under 265.
Scoring high in the first tournament of the season speaks loudly about his perfect form. He earned €158,500 and cheered all the European fans.
Then he played the Volvo Golf Champions and finished on the 7th leaderboard position. This was the last European Tour event, played by the South African in the current year.
He tied for the 17th position at the World Golf Championships – Accenture Match Play Championship, played in February.
After the successful and amazing finishes, he played the first PGA staged the Honda Classic and withdrawn in the third round.
He again enjoyed the World Golf Championships staged event of the Cadillac Championship and finished tied for the 60th.
In last two PGA organised tournaments, his performance was one of the best. He secured T20 position at the Transitions Championship and the 3rd at the Shell Houston Open.
Maybank's Chief Marketing Officer, Mohamed Adam Wee, said, "The second wave of star players committing to the Maybank Malaysian Open is a clear indication of the standing of the event as an important fixture on the European Tour Race to Dubai".
Now, he has confirmed to play at the European Tour staged event again. His presence in the field is a threat for all the other members.
Hence, a tough competitive battle is expected at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from April 12 to 15.
