Louis Oosthuizen to get his golf equipment from Ping, deal signed
Louis Oosthuizen has signed a deal with Ping on November 30th
according to which Ping will be the only official equipment provider for the golfer.
It was declared by the Chairman and CEO of Ping, John A. Solheim in a press release. According to Solheim, "Louis' achievement at St. Andrews made everyone at Ping very proud. He has been with Ping his entire pro career and we
have watched him become a truly world-class player. We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with him."
This has also been confirmed by Oosthuizen’s manager, Chubby Chandler.
Details of the deal state that the Open Championship winner will wear a hat with Ping signed on it and will carry a Ping staff golf bag. The South African’s golf kit will comprise of 11 Ping clubs, which will include a Ping driver
and Ping putter. However, the financial and legal details have not been disclosed.
Oosthuizen is the fourth South African to stir the European tour. Gary Player, Ernie Els and Bobby Locke were the first three to create news. The 27-year-old captured the course of St. Andrews in Scotland and smashed a course lowest
of seven-under in his first round. He used Ping's S56 irons, Tour-S Rustique wedges, a Redwood Anser putter and a Rapture V2 driver.
Oosthuizen is considered number one in driving accuracy and holds an average record of 20 birdies in a tournament. The veteran is 23rd in the world rankings and he is expected to rise by the mid of next year.
The player realises the fact that clubs play a crucial role in any golfer's performance. According to him, "Ping's equipment allows me to get the most from my game and reach my potential. On Tour, they're always right there when
I need them. They understand my game and give me a comfort level so I can go out and play with confidence."
