Louis Philippe Golf Cup in Bangalore gaining attention
The Louis Philippe Cup is to be played at the amazing Indian city of Bangalore, having all the competent and tough professionals in the field.
It is India’s richest and most popular golf tournament organised every year. The field is attractive and will be playing for the purse of $250,000 (Indian 1.24 Crores).
As there are players like Jeev Milkha Singh, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Jyoti Randhawa, Shiv Kapur, SSP Chowrasia, Digvijay Singh, Chiragh Kumar and Anirban Lahiri in the field, the tournament is getting a huge and a warm welcome.
All the Indian golf superstars will tee off in Bangalore. They are attracting a huge crowd to the course and are also boosting expansion of golf in the sub-continent.
“Both Abhishek (Jha) and I are very comfortable playing here. But the team format demands consistency. Even if one guy has a good day, the other two have to play well. We have been working on our strategies,” Lahiri said.
There are 10 super teams from different cities of India that will play at the Louis Philippe Cup. A tough battle and sensational rounds are expected at the KGA course.
The teams will be representing professional and amateur players from Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Noida.
The KGA golf course is really tough. All the players have to be consistent to score from the tee-off stroke till the end.
Covering more driving yards is not necessary. The need of the hour is to score well and save bogeys.
There are several bunkers, water hazards and tough roughs. If a player wants to be impressive, then he has to deliver his best in high winds and smooth greens.
Similarly, Bangalore players know how to compete at their home course. They are on a potential lead over the others.
Hence, golfers from other cities should gather knowledge about the course first, before the championship begins.
The tournament will start from Wednesday and the final will be played on Saturday. The winner will earn Rs 36 lacs and the runner-up will be earning Rs 24 lacs.
Similarly, the prize for third and fourth position is Rs 18 and Rs 12 lacs, respectively.
