However, the Flying Dutchmen boss was not satisfied with his troops’ performance on the pitch, and stressed that he expected a lot more from the younger players.
“Janmaat was not Janmaat. Clasie can offer a lot going forward, but he did not. That's why I changed them after the break”, Van Gaal was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.

The Dutch mentor, who took over the reins of the Oranje earlier this summer after the dismissal of Bert van Marwijk in the aftermath of a humiliating Euro 2012 performance, revealed that Jetro Willems and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bruno-c8098 Martins Indi also failed to perform at their
best in the opening 45 minutes.
“In the first half I was also dissatisfied with Martins Indi and Willems, but in the second half they improved handsomely. That is very impressive at that age and says a lot about those guys”, Van Gaal added.
Nonetheless, the 61-year-old tactician, who was unsuccessful during his first stint with the Oranje when he failed to guide his team to qualify for the 2002 World Cup, was pleased with the victory in the opening match.
“It is very important that we have won the first game, otherwise you are immediately behind the pace. I think the public enjoyed it, you could see that from their reactions. We had many more chances than the Turks”, Van Gaal concluded.
