Louise Dee and Phil Muspratt win 200m freestyle events - 13th European Masters Championships
Louise Dee Viktoria Delani of Denmark and Phil Muspratt of Great Britain clinched the gold medals of Women’s and Men’s 200m freestyle respectively, on the second day of the 13th European Masters Championships, taking place in
Yalta, Ukraine.
Viktoria Delani dominated the Women’s four-lap freestyle swim and reached the top of the podium for gold medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 17.31 seconds. She was in marginal lead of 0.12 seconds over her following swimmer, Marit Bloemer of Germany, who
occupied the second position of the event, with a timing of 2 minutes and 17.43 seconds. She was followed by Emma Ross of Great Britain, who remained 2.70 seconds behind her and submitted a time of 2 minutes and 20.13 seconds for bronze medal.
The fourth finest spot of the event was secured by Anja Bonde Boejesen of Denmark, who reported in a time of 2 minutes and 26.02 seconds. The fifth fastest spot of the discipline was secured by Carmen Del Rey Cristobal of Spain, who ended his swim in a time
of 2 minutes and 31.66 seconds.
Moments later, Muspratt presented a noteworthy swim in the Men’s equivalent event, where he posted a time of 2 minutes and 02.59 second for gold medal. He was followed by Sergey Alchebaev of Russia, who remained 1.93 seconds behind the gold medallist and
stepped on the podium for silver medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 04.46 seconds. Alchebaev was in a lead of 0.49 seconds from over Penttinen of Finland, who acquired the bronze medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 04.95 seconds.
The bronze medallist was trailed by Daniel Ossmann of Germany, who claimed fourth position in a time of 2 minutes and 11.50 seconds. Nicolas Chevet of France was sighted as the fifth finisher of the event with a timing of 2 minutes and 22.83 seconds.
Furthermore, the arena acknowledged the terrific swims of all participants, while the medal winners received their accolades after the completion of all scheduled events.
